Flashcards are an excellent tool in teaching children basic skills, such as colors, shapes, math, and various other essential building blocks of eduction. Many adults use them to aid in memorization of various things; Bible verses, company terminology, learning a new language, computer coding, licensing exams, ect. It is a tried and true method of learning, and nearly all of us have used flashcards at some point, or still do.
Index cards can get bulky, messy, or simply lost. Not only that, but every thing is going digital these days, so why not the flash card? Personally, the idea of pushing a few buttons is much more attractive to me than flipping through a stack of 3x5 index cards. Another plus, kids love working with computers, and you may be able to hold their attention a bit longer using a 'digital' rather than 'analog' method.
I hope you all passed! Seriously though, the site is set up very well, with easy to find links to things that may be of interest. Links to standardized tests are front and center, including (but not limited to!) the SAT, PSAT, MCAT, FCAT, and several others.
Should you be a parent, teacher, or just looking for a more efficient way to 'flash card' teach yourself, and ProPref doesn't have what you're looking for, you can always create your own 'deck' by signing up for an account. Oh, by the way, did I mention that this entire service is 100% free?
Give them a click and check things out for yourself, I think you'll be impressed. Their data base contains over a million cards, so I'm certain you'll be able to find something to learn. Class dismissed!
